Kutztown to Reading Public Transit Trip Planner: BARTA Route 22

This visualizer is an unofficial public resource built from BARTA’s public GTFS schedule data. Its purpose is to make the new Kutztown-to-Reading bus connection easier to understand, especially for people trying to see when scheduled trips leave Kutztown University or return from Reading.

GTFS stands for General Transit Feed Specification. In plain English, it is the standard data format transit agencies use to publish route, stop, schedule, calendar, and map-shape information. This tool reads BARTA’s public GTFS feed, identifies Route 22/Lyon Station/East Penn-Deka, and organizes the relevant stop times into a searchable schedule, map, and trip-planning format.

The route selector lets users switch between scheduled outbound trips from Kutztown University to Reading/BARTA Transportation Center and scheduled inbound trips from Reading/BARTA Transportation Center back to Kutztown University. The app also uses the GTFS calendar data to separate weekday service from days when the route is not scheduled to run.

Based on the current scheduled data, the Kutztown University extension operates on weekdays only and provides four round trips per day between Kutztown University and Reading. There is no scheduled weekend service shown for this route.
